ADVERTISEMENT NO.01/2008 (FC)

Applications are invited from the Indian citizens including Non-Resident Indians and Persons of Indian Origin for the post of Director, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. The qualifications for the said post are as under:-

1. QUALIFICATION

   1. ESSENTIAL:
      1. A high postgraduate qualification in Medicine or Surgery or Public Health and their branches.
      2. Teaching and/research experience of not less than ten yearsc.
      3. Twenty-five years standing in the Professionsd.
      4. Extensive practical & Administrative experience in the field of medical relief, medical research, medical education or public health organization and adequate experience of running an important scientific educational institution either as its Head or Head of a Department.
   2. SCALE OF PAY:
      1. Rs. 26,000/- (fixed) plus NPA of 25% of basic pay but pay + DP + NPA does not exceed Rs. 44250/-
      2. Residential accommodation will be provided in the Institute’s campus on payment of standard rent under F.R. 45 or 10% of pay, whichever is less.
      3. Other Allowances as admissible.
   3. UPPER AGE LIMIT:

      Up to 60 years for Government Servants/Retired Government Servants/specially qualified candidates for direct recruits and promotees.

   4. TENURE OF SERVICE:

      The Director shall hold office for a term of 5 years from the date on which he enters upon his office or until he attains the age of sixty-five (65) years, whichever is earlier.

   5. PROBATION : One year.
   6. OTHER INFORMATION:
      1. Government Servants in service can be appointed as on deputation on Foreign Service basis up to a period of five years.
      2. Retired Government Servants can be considered.
      3. Employees of the Institute including Director are not Government Servants.
      4. Employees of the Institute are entitled to pensionary benefits under the Central Government rules.
   7. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

      Citizens of India including Non-Resident Indians & Persons of Indian Origin.

NOTE :-

1. Eligible candidate may apply for the post quoting the number and date of advertisement in a plain sheet of paper in the proforma along-with photocopies of other relevant documents. 2. Members of the Institute Body of AIIMS, Vice Chancellor of Indian Universities may also send their nominations on the above lines.
3. International Institutions of Medical Education and Research may also nominate suitable candidates.
4. The last date for receipt of application will be 10^th July, 2008.
5. The effective date for determining the eligibility as per the prescribed qualifications, age, experience etc. for the post shall be the last date of receipt of applications, viz. 10^th July, 2008.
6. Late & incomplete application will not be considered.
7. Canvassing of any kind will be a disqualification.
