C. Personal Statement:

I am a clinician-scientist working in the field of rheumatology with special interest in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. I have been working on biomarkers of SLE and Lupus Nephritis for last 10 years. I am one of the principal investigators in the project on establishing the largest inception cohort of SLE patients (INSPIRE) in India. My current areas of work in SLE are Autoantibody profile with ANA patterns heterogeneity and serum metabolomics. I am also an associate member of the Autoantibody Standardization Committee (ASC) in Rheumatic and Related Disorders of the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS) and working on ANA patterns in SLE. I have ongoing collaborations with IIT, Delhi, Tripura University and University College, London for my research work related to SLE and other rheumatic diseases.

Day Care centre

Department of Rheumatology

Day Care Centre

The department has a fully functional six bedded day care centre which provides facilities for procedures like infusions of biologics and other affects like cyclophosphamide, intra-articular injections and aspirations and other diagnostic procedures like minor salivary gland biopsy, nerve biopsy, skin biopsy and muscle biopsy. Department also run a musculoskeletal ultrasound service and have been performing 150 to 200 scans and ultrasound guided procedures per month. Rheumatology day care is the best example of providing state of art patient care services in an economical way under resource constraint setting.
