Introduction

Introduction

The Laboratory Oncology Unit, NCI works alongside Laboratory Oncology Unit, Dr. BRA-IRCH to provide Hemato-Oncopathology services to patients.

Laboratory Oncology Unit had established Robotic Core Clinical Laboratory, India's first fully automated laboratory in the government set up at NCI, which was commissioned on February 12, 2019. The Robotic Core Clinical Laboratory provides the round-the-clock services and has a capability to perform 60,000 tests in a day while maintaining a turn-around-time of two hours for routine investigations. During COVID-19 pandemic, Robotic Core Clinical Laboratory not only provided laboratory services to admitted SARS-COV-2 infected patients but also provided SARS-COV-2 antibody testing on a voluntary basis for all the healthcare workers working at AIIMS, New Delhi. As of 2022, the laboratory had conducted around 45,30,339 tests per year.
