Patient Welfare Services

  

In R.P.Centre all Medical Social Services are under one window system. MSSO is coordinating for financial assistance through Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Janani Shishu Surksha Karyakarm , Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi (RAN/NIAF),Prime Minister's Relief Fund, Health Minister's Discretionary Grant Fund and direct donations , and through requisition Performa for BPL/Poor Indigent patients

The following activities under different schemes coordinated by Medical Social Service Unit are mentioned below:

Patient Benefit Schemes at RPC

  1. Government Schemes

  • Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY

  • Janani Shishu Surksha Karyakarm (JSSK)

  • Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi

  • Facilitating for free medicines & surgical items through store for in-patients as per the Consultations received from various wards

  1. Poor Patients Fund (RPC)

Medical Social Service Unit is facilitating for free medicines and Spectacles for poor and indigent outdoor (OPD) patients through Poor Patient's Fund of Centre.

  1. Direct Donations from various donors

If patient isn't eligible under any government scheme and the patient does not have a valid BPL Card/Low Income Certificate/in case of emergency, patient is helped through direct donation .

  1. Exemption of Hospital Levy charges for BPL and Indigent patients

Medical Social Service Unit exempt the hospital charges manually and through e hospital management system based on the Socio-economic assessment.

  1. Railway Concession Certificate

Railway concession certificate is provided to cancer patients and 100% visually impaired patients as per Government norms to ensure the regular follow-up.

  

Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana:

 

  • At AIIMS , first patient treated under AB-PMJAY is from Dr.R.P.Centre.

  • Total Number of surgeries done at Dr. R.P.Centre in the last five years are 2944.

  • Started Helpline No. 9811133196 for coordination of ABPMJAY cases of Dr.R.P.Centre,we are only centre where this helpline facility is started.

  • Medical Social Service Officers are the important link between PMAMs and treating physician or nominated person from each department.

  • To create awareness, to facilitate and coordinate the AB-PMJAY beneficiary to avail treatment under the scheme .

  • Working as Medical Coordinator for the centre and is overall responsible for smooth implementation of the scheme .

  • Supervising the functioning of PMAM’s and Patient Care Managers (PCMs) recruited for smooth functioning of Ayushman Bharat PMJAY .

  • Coordination with concerned nodal persons regarding any issue faced by them related to AB-PMJAY .

  • Exemptions of charges like admission charges ,investigations charges etc,if has to be done are exempted by MSSO

  • To coordinate with NHA (National Health Authority) and SHA (State Health Agency)

Janani Shishu Surkshaa Karyakarm

Government of India has launched Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakaram (JSSK) on 1st June, 2011 under the flagship of Ministry of health and Family Welfare (MOHFW).The Scheme is implemented in Dr.R.P.Centre in January ,2018 under The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare .In last two years total 1942 patients got benefit under the scheme.

Key features of the Scheme

 

  • Free treatment for all pregnant women (IPD patients) to promote Institutional deliveries

  • Free treatment for the newly born upto the age of one year(IPD patients)

  • Benefit to all eligible pregnant women and child upto the age of one year irrespective of socio-economic status

  • Reimbursement provision is not available if patient pays the bill

  • Birth certificate / Age proof is mandatory in view of Audit of accounts and record keeping

  • Approval of the competent authority the Medical Superintendent, Dr.R.P.Centre is mandatory before any procedure

 

Things to remember in the implementation of JSSK

 

  • Patient admitted in private ward is not entitled for the benefit

  • The Scheme is only for IPD admitted in General Ward Only.

Poor Patien'ts Fund (RPC)

Medical Social Service Unit is facilitating for free medicines and Spectacles for poor and indigent outdoor (OPD) patients through Poor Patient's Fund of Centre.Donations for poor & indigent patients undergoing treatment at our centre can be made by Bank Draft/ Cheque drawn in favor of “POOR PATIENTS FUND ACCOUNT / Dr. R.P.Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences”. Donations made under this account are eligible for 100 % tax relief U/S 80G and 35 of the Income Tax Act, 1961vide order no. DIT (E) 2006-2007/A-240/1216 dated 31-08-2006 .

Railway Concession Certificate to patients as per Government norms to ensure the regular follow-up

MSS Unit provides Railway Concession Certificates to the 100% visually disabled patients and Cancer patients for regular treatment follow up(as per government norms).In last 8 years MSS Unit provides railway concession certificates to 3517 patients.
