Prof M Srinivas has had an illustrious career with more than three decade experience in various positions in the academic, administrative and research fields. He joined the Institute in 1994 and ascended the academic ladder and became Professor of Pediatric Surgery in the year 2011. He has authored around 200 research papers and has trained thousands of undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. His administrative experience includes development of new medical colleges under the ESI Corporation and has contributed to initiation of more than 10 new medical colleges and starting post graduate and super speciality courses in these institutes. He also has experience in getting the NABH accreditation for ESIC hospital at Hyderabad. He has been a meritorious student throughout his career and has received several Gold medals and Awards. He is a distinguished member of 15 Professional organizations and has been awarded fellowships by many of them. He did a prestigious fellowship from the Children’s Research Center, Dublin, Ireland and returned with a rich experience to teach and train in India. He has been appointed as the Director, AIIMS, New Delhi with effect from 23 September 2022.
The patient welfare services are in the continuum of hospital services extending to the identification and removing barriers that may be limiting effective engagement of patients with healthcare services.

Cashless treatment of entitled AB-PMJAY scheme beneficiaries.
Exemption of hospital charges for common investigations/ hospitalisation
Free medicines/surgical items by the hospital for indoor patients
Financial assistance through Umbrella Scheme of Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi (RAN), Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF), Chief Minister’s Fund, Delhi Arogya Nidhi (DAN), Vice-President’s Fund and other such funds for medical treatment
Rehabilitation of Unknown/Without attendant/Destitute/Orphan patients
Resource mobilisation through government & non-government agencies
In addition to the above mentioned, following services are also extended for patient welfare:
Counseling & Guidance to patients and their attendants as per the need & requirements
Railway concession to outstation patients as per government rules
Health education & awareness through Seminars, Lectures, one-to-one counselling, Group-work and IEC material etc.
Counseling & coordination for authorization of organ donors; and awareness/ motivation to prospective organ donors.
Capacity building and sensitization of Social Work students and Healthcare professionals
Short-term and long-term Research studies to improve evidence-based practice
