The glaucoma clinic is a key component of the unit, providing comprehensive evaluation and management of patients with elevated intraocular pressure and optic nerve damage. A dedicated glaucoma laboratory supports both clinical assessment and advanced research, equipped with Casia AS-OCT, Spectralis OCT, HRT, UBM, and a range of tonometry devices suitable even for paediatric and uncooperative patients. The large patient volume supports long-term outcome studies and ongoing refinement of surgical techniques. Laser treatments offered include peripheral iridotomy, selective laser trabeculoplasty, trans-scleral diode laser cyclophotocoagulation, and micropulse therapy. Surgical care spans paediatric procedures such as goniotomy and trabeculotomy, as well as adult interventions including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), trabeculectomy, phaco-combined glaucoma surgeries, and glaucoma drainage device implantation.

The unit as a whole delivers comprehensive services across paediatric and adult cataract, refractive surgery, glaucoma, and ocular oncology through dedicated specialty clinics. Cataract management covers the full spectrum of paediatric and adult conditions. Paediatric cataracts—congenital, syndromic, traumatic, and other complex forms—are routinely treated, while adult cases include both age-related cataracts and complicated presentations such as subluxated or dislocated lenses. Advanced surgical options such as femtosecond laser–assisted cataract surgery (FLACS) and premium trifocal, multifocal, and toric intraocular lenses are regularly employed. The unit is also equipped to manage challenging cases requiring aniridic IOLs, intralenticular lens aspiration, capsular support devices, secondary IOLs, and glued scleral-fixated IOL (SFIOL) placement.

The refractive surgery clinic offers modern correction of myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism, including SMILE, femtosecond LASIK, ICL and IPCL implantation, PRK, and intrastromal corneal ring segments.

The ocular oncology service provides care for retinoblastoma, malignant melanoma, and other ocular tumours, offering plaque brachytherapy, transpupillary thermotherapy, and gamma-knife radiosurgery in collaboration with the Gamma Knife Unit at AIIMS, while continuing to advance treatment through research and innovation.
