Introduction
Pediatric Intensive Care services were started in the department in 1986 under supervison of Prof OP Ghai by converting two cubicles of pediatric ward in to Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Now Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is an independent unit with 8 beds, well equipped to handle all types of severe acute illnesses. The division gets patients from all over India and from neighboring countries. There is an active ongoing active research program. We are involved in training of MD, BSc and MSc Nursing, DM, and PhD students and also short-term and long-term trainees from India and abroad.
