Dr. Mohan Bairwa is an Assistant Professor and Public Health Specialist. He did MBBS (SMS Medical College, Jaipur, India) and MD in Community Medicine (Pt B D Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, India). After MD, Dr. Bairwa has done Senior Residency at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi.  

Before joining AIIMS, New Delhi, Dr. Bairwa was a Faculty of Public Health, Epidemiology and Health Management at the Institute of Health Management Research, and Program Coordinator and Faculty In-charge of Johns Hopkins-IIHMR co-operative MPH program at IIHMR University, Jaipur. He was a member of the Centre for Injury Research, and Centre of Health Systems and Policy Research at IIHMR University. He is a life member of the Indian Public Health Association (IPHA) and the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM).  

His areas of research interest are non-communicable diseases and injuries, urban health, primary care-based health systems, people-centered care, evidence-based public health, disease burden, research methods, and bibliometric studies.

Currently, Dr. Bairwa is a member of AIIMS Technical Support Unit for Verbal Autopsy based cause of death assignment to the Office of Registrar General of India (through MINErVA Network India) and  Global  Burden of Disease collaborators network. He is involved in WHO-UNITY studies for COVID-19 epidemiology and Medical Certification on Cause of Death studies at AIIMS and MINErVA network. Dr. Bairwa has supported WHO -SEARO in developing a course on People-centric Service Delivery for NCDs and its capacity-building initiatives in Southeast Asian countries. He has been faculty for AIIMS-PGIMER International Course on NCDs. Dr. Bairwa was Co-Principal Investigator of the National Taskforce Study for Comprehensive Integrated RTI Surveillance (IRIS India) and India - Feeding Infants and Toddlers Study and Kids Nutrition and Health Study (FITS/KNHS-India).

Inpatient services

 

Urban Health Programme

No inpatient services are available at UHC, Dakshinpuri.

 

SDH, Ballabgarh   

 Sub district hospital, Ballabgarh has a 50 bedded ward, a well-equipped labour room and neonatal unit. Doctor on duty, nursing staff and other auxillary staff remains available in ward for 24 hours. Specialist doctor in obstetrics & gynecology and pediatrics are available in the campus, remain on call.

 

Primary Health Centre  

Each PHC has 6 inpatient beds. Patients with conditions which can be managed at PHCs are admitted to wards. Delivery hut along with newborn care corner is available for delivery services of ANC. ANC patients are admitted for delivery and are discharged 48 hours after the delivery. All admissions are for shorter duration and no patients with chronic morbidity are admitted in the wards.

Urban Health programme

Urban Health Centre also provides basic laboratory services which includes hemoglobin estimation, blood sugar measurement, and blood grouping.

 

SDH, Ballabgarh

Laboratory is equipped with auto analyzers for blood biochemistry, hematology, cytology and microscopic facility. It also provides X-ray and ultrasound services. All the investigations are free of cost and available as per hospital hours while urgent and emergency investigations round the clock.

 

PHCs

Basic laboratory investigations including hemoglobin estimation, blood glucose measurement, blood grouping, peripheral smear for malaria and sputum smear microscopy are provided free of cost in both the PHCs.

Urban Health Programme

Outpatient services are provided at the Urban Health Clinic (UHC) in Dakshinpuri resettlement colony, Dr. Ambedkar Nagar on 5 days a week. The clinic is run by residents of the department. Also, immunization services are provided through immunization clinics held twice in a week.   

 

Comprehensive Rural Health Services Project (CRHSP), Ballabgarh  

Comprehensive Rural Health Services Project (CRHSP), Ballabgarh comprises a sub district hospital (SDH), and two Primary Health Centres (PHCs) at Dayalpur, and at Chhainsa. Outpatient services at Sub district hospital (SDH), Ballabgarh includes the following:

PHCs provide the following outpatient services:

 

  1. OPDs at PHC
  2. Extension Health Clinics (EHCs) and Outreach Antenatal Camps
  3. Outreach Specialty Clinic (ORSO)

 

Both PHC Dayalpur and PHC Chhainsa provide outpatient services daily in the forenoon. Patients are seen by residents of Community Medicine and interns. Patients who can be managed at PHC are provided treatment during the clinic; patients requiring more specialized care are referred to SDH, Ballabgarh. AYUSH OPD service is available at PHC Dayalpur. 

Extension Health Clinics (EHC) provide outpatient services at subcentre. Each of the six subcentres is visited once a week by residents and interns as per the schedule. Drugs are provided to the patients for a week depending on the availability. Outreach Antenatal Camps are conducted in the villages regularly so as to provide quality antenatal care at village level.

Outreach Specialty clinics (ORSO) are held at both the PHCs, once a week on Tuesdays. Senior residents of obstetrics, paediatric, ophthalmology, psychiatry visit the PHC for providing consultation.
