The Department of Dietetics at AIIMS was established in the year 1959. With the functioning of Dr. BRA IRCH since 1983-84 with 35 beds and upgradation of infrastructure in the year 2003 with 200 beds, dietary services extended its catering from the Main Hospital services to all in-patients admitted in the IRCH center.
The Dietary Department at Dr. BRA IRCH functions under the Main Dietetics Department of AIIMS hospital with one Dietician posted for monitoring all dietary related services within the center. With the co-ordination of the Main Hospital Dietetics Department, apart from in-patient dietary services, IRCH caters to the needs of day-care patients by providing them 1 packet of biscuits each to the following day-care centers in all working days as follows:

2nd floor IRCH daycare – 72 biscuits per day

Room no. 15, GF IRCH daycare – 30 biscuits per day

Paediatric RT/CT, GF IRCH – 6 biscuits per day

1st floor New Private Ward, IRCH daycare – 40 biscuits per day
