The clinical services offered by the department aim at the early detection and management of cancers, especially in high-risk populations. The services provided include:
Cancer Screening: Comprehensive screening for cancers such as breast, cervical and oral through a variety of methods like clinical breast exams, mammography, HPV DNA test, and oral visual examination.
Risk Assessment: Assessment of cancer risk based on family history, lifestyle, and genetic factors. Individuals at high risk are provided with personalized recommendations for surveillance and preventive strategies.
Vaccinations: Administering vaccines like the HPV vaccine to prevent cervical and other HPV-related cancers.
Tobacco Cessation Clinics: Offering counseling and pharmacological support to help individuals quit smoking, one of the major preventable risk factors for many cancers.
Follow-up and Monitoring: Regular follow-up for patients at risk of developing cancer or for those diagnosed with precancerous lesions.
