Centre of Excellence in One Health:
The Centre of Excellence in One Health at AIIMS New Delhi is a multidisciplinary platform dedicated to advancing integrated approaches to human, animal, and environmental health. Supported by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the Centre works at the intersection of research, preparedness, biosafety, capacity building, and public health engagement, with a strong focus on infectious diseases and emerging health threats. The Centre promotes interdisciplinary research spanning host–pathogen biology, zoonoses, antimicrobial resistance, biosafety, outbreak preparedness, and translational health innovation. In addition to research, it actively contributes to education and awareness through lectures, workshops, training programs, student engagement activities, expert interactions, and outreach initiatives designed to strengthen One Health understanding across diverse audiences. By linking science, policy, training, and implementation, the Centre aims to build knowledge, capacity, and collaborative frameworks that are relevant to both national priorities and global health challenges

We give lectures, conduct various awareness programs on Zoonoses & 'National One Health' priority areas. We have successfully conducted several such programs in many schools, colleges and hospitals that effectively highlighted the need for increased awareness and action in preventing zoonotic diseases. By providing a platform for experts and the public to engage in meaningful dialogue, the program fostered a deeper understanding of zoonoses and empowered individuals with the knowledge and tools to protect themselves, their families, and their communities. Moving forward, we would like to continue our efforts to educate the public on zoonotic diseases through similar events and outreach initiatives to aim countries pandemic preparedness, national policy making and advocacy.
