 Prof. Emilio Perucca M.D,Ph.D

 

Professor of Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Pavia and Director of the Laboratories for Diagnostics and Applied Biological Research at the Institute of Neurology IRCCS  C. Mondino Foundation in Pavia, Italy. He is Associate Editor of Epilepsia and a member of the editorial board of several other journals. He is currently First Vice-President Elect of the International League against Epilepsy (ILAE). His research interests have been focused mainly on the treatment of epilepsy, with special reference to clinical pharmacokinetics, clinical trial methodology and outcome assessment. He co-edited several international textbooks and authored or co-authored many articles and book chapters in the field of clinical pharmacology and epilepsy therapy.


 

 

Dr. Patrick Kwan

 

From Prince of Wales Hospital, Shatin, Hong Kong, Honorary Associate Professor, Department of Medicine & Therapeutics, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Vice President, Hong Kong Epilepsy Society, Council Member, Hong Kong Neurological Society, Member, Editorial Board, Epilepsia. His main areas of research include Epidemiology, natural history, long-term outcome, genetics, management, prevention, antiepileptic drugs : Pharmacology, monotherapy / polytherapy clinical trials, treatment strategies. He has interests in basic science research in pathogenesis, Molecular genetics, neurotransmitters, ion channels, animal modeling, Drug resistance Mechanisms, multidrug resistance (MDR) genes, drug transporters etc. His has very extensively quoted publications to his credit.


 

Dr. Raman Sankar M.D, Ph.D

 

Rubin Brown Professor of Pediatric Neurology and Chief of the Division of Pediatric Neurology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Sankar’s areas of research sponsored by the NINDS, NIH include status epilepticus and seizure-induced changes on the developing brain. A widely published author, his research has appeared in diverse journals including, Journal of Neuroscience, Brain Research, Epilepsia, and Annals of Neurology.

He is a member of the Research Committee and the Professional Advisory Board of the Epilepsy Foundation.  He is a contributing editor for the basic science section of Epilepsy Currents published by the American epilepsy Society


 

Dr. Noriko Salmon, M.D

 

Is an Assistant Professor of the radiology dept at David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA. She is specializing exclusively on imaging for epilepsy and is has expertise particularly in MRI and PET techniques to visualize epileptogenic structural abnormalities of the brain.

 


 Dr. John Stern, M.D

 

Assistant Professor, Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Specializes in videotelemetry, presurgical evaluation of epilepsies (adult). Programs for VNS (Vagal Nerve Stimulation) etc. Has many publications and a recent all time favorite EEG textbook to his credit.


 Dr. Solomon Moshe, MD

 

 

Dr. Moshe is the Present Secretary General of the ILAE , Professor of Neurology, Neurosciences and Pediatrics , Vice Chair, Department of Neurology , Director, Pediatric Neurology and Director of Clinical Neurophysiology, Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He was also the past president of the American Epilepsy Society  and the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society. He received his medical degree from the National University of Athens School of  Medicine, Athens, Greece. He has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards and served in many International Committees at improving the care of patients through translational research. His research has focused on understanding the mechanisms underlying epilepsy and its consequences in children.


 

          Dr. A.N Prasad


Dr Prasad is Associate Professor in Pediatrics and Clinical Neurosciences in Schulich School of Medicine, University of Western Ontario, Canada. He has special interest in Pediatric epilepsy, particularly in Neurometabolic and Neurogenetic conditions causing epilepsy. He also has a keen interest in epidemiology and natural history of childhood epilepsy and related disorders. He has over 50 publications and has been invited worldwide for numerous talks and lectures.
