Mr. Umesh Kumar

Assistant Library & Information Officer

Shri Umesh Kumar works as a Librarian at B.B. Dikshit Library, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. His educational and professional qualifications are B.Sc., B.Ed., MLIS, M.Phil, UGC (NET), and Ph.D. Research Scholar (LIS) from the University of Delhi. His area of interest includes medical librarianship, information retrieval, open educational resources, and advances in e-library services. He managed the AIIMS New Delhi Branch Library from 2015 to 2018; during his tenure, he did a lot of infrastructure and collection development work to ensure the smooth functioning of the AIIMS Branch Library. He has 17 years of medical librarianship experience at AIIMS and has also worked as a Library and Information Science Intern at the Central Secretariat Library (CSL), Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi. He participated in various training programs, seminars, workshops, and conferences. His work profile comprises library management, procurement of M & E, and subscription of electronic resources; during his career, he held several important positions in B. B. Dikshit Library, AIIMS, New Delhi. He is a Life Member of the Indian Library Association.

Mr. Jahangir Khan

Library & Information Officer

Mr. Jahangir Khan is the Officiating In-Charge & Librarian Grade-I in B.B. Dikshit Library, AIIMS, New Delhi. He has joined to premier health institute, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi on September 4, 1997. He is professionally qualified with graduate in Agriculture Science, Bachelor of Library & Information Science, Master of Library & Information Science, Master of Science in Information Technology and M.Phil in Library and Information Science. He had attended several advanced training program in I.T. Application in Health Science Library Management. Besides this, he is also holding PG Diploma in Library Automation and Networking. He has presented research papers in various National Conferences/Symposia in India. He has been honored with “The G.M. Kumar Best Paper Award” in the field of Medical Librarianship in the year 2011. Mr. Khan has also honored with “Best Staff Management Award” in the field of Best Library and Information Services by Director, AIIMS, New Delhi, Year 2017 and also awarded Best Library Management Award in the year 2022 by . Mr. Khan has 27 years of working experience in AIIMS, New Delhi and others Libraries like DESIDOC, CBT (CSIR), INSA, IGNCA and Dayal Singh Public Library, Delhi.

He is Life Member of Medical Library Association of India (MLAI) and Indian Library Association (ILA).

Mr. Sumit Kumar

 Library & Information Officer

Mr. Sumit Kumar joined as a Librarian (Grade III) in B.B. Dikshit Library, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi on July 14, 2022. He has completed his B.Sc. (H) in Mathematics from Ramjas College, University of Delhi, Bachelor of Library & Information Science (BLISc), and Master of Library & Information Science (MLISc) from the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Delhi. He is UGC-NET (JRF) qualified in Library & Information Science. Besides this, he also holds Post Graduate Diploma in Library Automation and Networking (PGDLAN) from Indira Gandhi National Open University. He has attended various training programs, workshops and seminars and has core knowledge of his profession. His work profile consists of library Circulation Counter, Maintenance of Theses records, User Services and Machinery and Equipment (M&E) Procurement of Library.

Mr. Prashant Shrivastava

Library & Information Officer

Dr. Prashant Shrivastava is presently working as Librarian Grade-I in B. B .Dikshit Library, AIIMS, New Delhi. He has professional qualifications PGDCA, ADCA, MCA, M.L.I.Sc, M.Phil, Ph.D. He completed certificate course on Research Data Management and Sharing from The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, USA.

Recently he obtained fellowship from Research Training Institute, Medical Library Association, USA.

He has long professional experience of eighteen years for Medical Librarianship in AIIMS, New Delhi. He awarded Best Librarian under Excellence in Library Health Knowledge Resources Development in AIIMS, New Delhi. His work profile consists of library health knowledge resources development and overall resources subscription of B.B.Dikshit Library , AIIMS, New Delhi. During his career he has perform in various important capacities for AIIMS, Library.

He is teaching also to MLISc and BLISc courses as Academic Counsellor in School of Open Learning, University of Delhi. He is Co-Principal Investigator for eShodhmanthan Research Data Repository Project hosted by Central University of Haryana, Haryana.

He involves continuously in academic and research activities of various universities also acts as reviewer for various leading Library and Information Science journals.

He has attended various training programs, workshops, seminars. He has presented and published various research papers in national and International Journals/conferences/seminars etc. His areas of expertise and interest are medical librarianship, preservation, retrieval and organization of research data, research data literacy and research data management.

Library & Information Officer

Rabia joined as a librarian Gd III in B.B. Dikshit Library, All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), New Delhi on February 3, 2023. She has completed her B.Sc. in ZBC From B.R.A University Agra. Bachelor of Library and Information Science (B. L. I. Sc), Master of Library and information Science (M. L. I. Sc.) From the department of Library and Information Science  Aligarh Muslim University Aligarh. She is UGC- NET (JRF). Her work profile consists of Maintenance of Circulation Data Record, Circulation Counter & Reader Services.
