The N.S.S. Unit of AIIMS is one of the most active N.S.S. Units in Delhi. On a regular basis, it organizes the following activities:

      -        on HIV/AIDS, STDs
-        Basic Orientation Course in Community Health

 

N.S.S. Unit, AIIMS : Activities in the year 2007-2008

 The N.S.S. Unit of AIIMS is located at Centre for Community Medicine.  Dr. Bir  Singh continued to be its  Programme Coordinator and Dr.Anil Goswami & Mrs. Kiran Singh continued to be the Programme  Officers of this unit.  Despite receiving no grants from the government, the unit continued to be active in the year under review.  The following are the highlights of its achievements in the year under review:
06 Posters were modified on “Dengue” and displayed at three places i.e.  Dengue screening OPD, AIIMS and at CCM & CRHSP Ballabgarh, Faridabad, Haryana.

·        Nine film shows were conducted under various teaching and training programmes.

     ·        Four role-plays were performed in the community on Alcoholism, Drug-addiction, Family Planning, Polio, Personal Hygiene, Obesity, Mother and Child
           Health and Gender Bias.

 Exhibition and health talks were organized to observe the following events:

In addition awareness generation program was organized on following topics

·        “Awareness Programme on Eye Care”

·        “Dengue Awareness Programme"

Other Community welfare activities included:                                                                                            

·        Well baby Show/ Exhibition & Film shows

·        Blood Donation Camp at IIT Delhi was organized with  CNC Blood Bank (120 units of blood collected)                

·        Health Mela & Health Exhibition on T.B.,  Meningitis, Tobacco, Bird Flu, Migraine at Kusum Pur Pahari,  Vasant Vihar .
