INDO-US EMERGENCY MEDICINE ACADEMIC COUNCIL

The Board of Directors of INDUS-EM invites Deans of Indian Medical Colleges Recognized by the Medical Council of India to send one Nominated Faculty to serve as Councilor on the INDUS-EM Academic Council for the Year 2006-2007. The overall goal of the Council is to recognize individual academic faculty from various MCI recognized Medical Colleges in India to form a group who works towards Curriculum development for training Medical Students, Residents and Fellows in Emergency Medicine and Trauma Care in India. These individual will act as a National Leadership Forum which will recommend the curriculum and lead the way to develop Emergency Medicine and Trauma Systems at their respective institutions.

·        Last date for Nomination is 26th August 2006.

·       One Faculty nomination per Medical College will be accepted.

·        Dean of the Medical College will nominate a faculty to be councilor

·        Medical College should be MCI recognized.

 The Nominated Councilor is expected to provide:

1.    Most recent Curriculum Vitae

2.    Passport Size Picture

3.    Completed Councilor Nomination Form

4.    Completed Registration Form and fees

5.    Support Letter from Dean of His or Her Medical College

1.    Recognize the process for developing academic emergency medicine and Trauma care in India.

2.    Review the USA Academic Model of Emergency Medicine..

3.    Participate in the process of creating guidelines for an Emergency Medicine and Trauma curriculum

4.    Explore opportunities to do an International Fellowship

     5. Explore future vistas for conducting International research
