Applications are invited from suitable officers for filling up one post of Chief Librarian (on Deputation) in the pay scale of Rs.14300-400-18300 in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi-110029.

The qualification and experience etc. attached to the post of Chief Librarian is as under:­

Essential

(i)        Atleast a second class Master's Degree in Science (preferably in Biological Sciences) of a recognized
              University or equivalent;

(ii)       Degree or equivalent Diploma in Lib.Science of a recognized Institution or University; and

(iii)      7 years' experience in a supervisory capacity in a library of standing

Desirable:­

v)              Master's Degree in Library Science;

vi)         Training in Medical Librarianship;

vii)        Experience of documentation work in a responsible capacity;

          viii)        Knowledge of Sanskrit and any modern European language other than English.

Eligibility

          Officers under the Central/State/U. T.Governments/Universities/Statutory, Autonomous Bodies or Research and Development Organisations holding analogous posts on regular basis or with at least 5/8 years of regular service in the post in the scale of Rs. 12000-375-16500 /Rs.10000-325-15200 respectively

The Officers who fulfill the above qualifications/eligibility may submit their application in the prescribed performs at Annexure-1 through proper channel to the Director, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi-110029, so as to reach him on or before 07.03.2008. While forwarding their applications it may be ensured that the particulars of the candidates are verified and that they fulfill the eligibility conditions and photocopies, duly attested, of their up to date Confidential Reports are enclosed with the applications. It may also be dearly stated that no Vigilance/disciplinary proceedings is pending or contemplated against the candidates concerned. Applications without vigilance clearance and CR dossiers will not be considered.

The pay of the such cases who can be relieved immediately in case of selection and also selected officers will be regulated in accordance with the Department of Personnel & Training's O.M.No.2/29/91-Estt.(Pay II) dated 05.01.1994, as amended from time to time.
