Glaucoma Lab at R.P Centre

Glaucoma facility with several newer and advanced investigative and therapeutic modalities became operational at Dr. R.P. Centre since October 2000. The investigative modalities available at the glaucoma facility include :

1. Newer perimetric tests of Short Wave Automated Perimetry (SWAP) and Frequency Doubling Technique Perimetry (FDP).
2. Ultrasound Biomicroscopy (UBM) to evaluate morphology of the anterior chamber in glaucoma patients.
3. Heidelberg Retinal Tomography (HRT-II) system that allows automated evaluation of optic disc morphology and aids in earlier diagnosis of glaucoma as well as its progression.
4. Ocular blood flow tonometry.
5. Retinal Nerve Fiber layer Analyzer to detect changes in the nerve fiber layer thickness in glaucoma suspects and patients.
6. Diode laser with G-probe delivery for contact diode laser cyclophoto- coagulation and slit lamp delivery for trabeculoplasty.
